Snap Judgment Host Glynn Washington refers to Davey as “Quadruple Threat Kim” because he can produce, score, tell, and teach stories.

Davey (he/him) is the creator and senior podcast producer for Adult ISH, a first-of-its-kind culture + advice podcast produced through YR Media (fka Youth Radio), a Peabody award-winning media production company in Oakland, CA. He is also a production advisor for Self Evident, a show that takes on what it means to be American by presenting stories by and about Asian Americans.

Prior to YR Media, his stories and scores have aired on WNYC's Snap Judgment (400+ NPR member stations across two million listeners weekly) + Snap's spinoff "Spooked" podcast (#1 on iTunes). Many of his pieces have been recognized as exceptional, including #3 on Thrillist’s “Best Podcast Episodes of 2016”, #13 on The Atlantic’s “Best Podcasts of 2016” and #36 in 2015.  He has also contributed to NPR, Marketplace, Here and Now, The Dinner Party Download, KCRW's Unfictional, PRI's The World, and KPCC's Take Two.

Davey’s personal stories have aired at audio festivals include Radio Campfire and Audio Under The Stars. He has also taught at several non-profits and schools, including Oakland School for the Arts, San Quentin's Ear Hustle, and Writing Pad. Several of his students and clients have aired their stories on NPR and toured on The Moth Mainstage.

His side hustles include competitive bike polo (last place in 2018 North American Championships) and mastering his housemate's instant pot. He does not let his lactose intolerance stop him from eating string cheese. He has also made an appearance on a comedic web series (The North Pole - watch here) and had a hard time pronouncing 'dothraki' on-set (he does not watch Game of Thrones).
